9/11/08 - September 2008 Update

September Update...

Absences:

Please assist the teaching staff by letting us know if your child is going to be absent.  You can phone or email in absences to manager@firstclass.co.nz.  Please give us as much notice as you can of an absence, but a phone call in the morning still helps the staff in their day to day planning.

Lost Property:

Please check the lost property boxes - any lost property still remaining at the end of term will go into the clothing bin.

Staffing:

Later this month we welcome Claire Gilling to First Class.  Claire will be working upstairs in the nursery.  She is a trained primary teacher, and will be a great addition to the nursery team.  This month we have a lot of staff out on leave, meaning unfortunately there may be times we will be unable to cater for people wanting extra casual days.

Chicken Pox:

We have had two cases of chicken pox in the centre, so please be on the look out for symptoms. Symptoms include fever and spots with blisters on top.  Children need to be kept away from the centre until all spots have crusted over.  If children show signs of chicken pox, you will be phoned and asked to collect them.

Living Art Animal Park

This is one of Tauranga's gems, an animal park in our own back yard.  You may be aware that the park is in extreme danger of having to close.  So can we encourage you to support this awesome resource, and take your children to see, feed and pat the animals.  The park is off Marshall Avenue, at Barkes Corner.
