We welcome Betty to the centre, many of you will know Betty already, Betty will now be working Monday - Wednesday in our 3-5 year old unit.

We also welcome Margaret who will be working afternoons in the Nursery.

We farewell Nicola from the centre on the 22nd of February and wish her all the best for her training at Waikato University over the next 3 years.  We look forward to seeing her in the school holidays and hearing of her adventures.

Students & Relievers

We have Jill and Gill coming into the centre for 15 hours a week.  They are both beginning their training this year.

Once again we thank our wonderful relievers who help to keep the centre operational at times.  Ellen Sand will head back to her studies on the 14th of February.

SunSmart Policy

Yes, we put sunblock on the children regularly, but PLEASE put sunblock on before children attend each morning.  Where possible can children wear garments with short sleeves.  Singlet tops expose more flesh to the sun.  Remember changes of clothes (including a sweatshirt) need to be sent each day.

Centre Hours - 7.30am - 5.30pm

Please remember 7.30am is our start time, not 7.20am or earlier.  Some staff chose to arrive early, but 7.30am is the time on our license and we are unable to have children in the centre before this time.

Currently we are confirming start and finish times to ensure our staff ratios are correct.

Signing Your Children In & Out

Please make sure you remember to sign your children in when you drop them off and sign them out again when they leave. It is very important - especially in an emergency - that we know exactly who we need to account for.  If you are new to the centre, ask a staff member to show you what you need to do.

Meals

We are no longer serving sandwiches with our main lunch meal, these are now served at morning tea.  This is part of our Heart Foundation menu.  We are encouraging children to eat the main lunch meal each day.  This is working well (rest assured no child will be left to go hungry).

Parent Library

Don't forget to check out our parent library for some great parenting books. DVDs will now be available in the parent library.  Please remember to fill in the notebook when you borrow a book or DVD so we can keep track of them.

Have a great month
