Dear Parents and Friends

Welcome to Term 4 2007

With daylight saving starting a week early this year

Summer feels like it is just around the corner

The Hakka

We recently had an amazing visit from a group of young men from College. They showed us how they perform the Haka and encouraged us to join in. They were very impressive and we appreciated the time they took out of there lunchtime to support our learning. Our journey with the Haka began with the Rugby World Cup. We have been forming our own teams and following the process involved with the beginning of a game. This has of course led to the Haka and National Anthem. Both of which we perform enthusiastically before a game.

Staffing

Nursery:

Rachel, Sally and Erica continue to run a supportive unit. With several new families joining First Class for the first time I appreciate their support of the whanau.

Erica will be taking Maternity leave at the end of Term 4. We are currently advertising for a new staff member to work with our under 2?s

2-3 year unit:

Our team which currently operates with Jane, Donna, Pearl-Ann and Briar, will be depleted in December with Pearl-Ann moving to Perth, Australia with her husband and family to live.

3-5 year unit:

Staff working in this area include Lorraine, Hailee, Ruth, Jessica and Clare. We are looking forward to a busy term. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Hailee and Jessica for their support working out at St Andrews, Te Puke. We have appointed a new staff member to a position in Te Puke. She will begin at the end of October.

I find it difficult to admit that I have already been in my "new" position at First Class for a little over a year. It has been a busy journey but I look back with pride at all my team have achieved.

It is a privilege to serve you, the families of First Class.
